Joshua Safran, author, attorney, advocate and survivor, will present at NCVLI’s 2014 Crime Victim Law Conference. Joshua Safran is an author, attorney, and very occasional rabbi. He is featured in the award-winning documentary Crime After Crime, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and had its television debut on the Oprah Winfrey Network. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed book Free Spirit: Growing Up On the Road and Off the Grid, a memoir about his childhood. Joshua is a nationally recognized champion for women’s rights and a zealous advocate for survivors of domestic violence and the wrongfully imprisoned. For his work he has received numerous awards and national media coverage. Joshua will be presenting at NCVLI’s 2014 Conference on the shifting identities of victims and perpetrators in the eyes of the law, particularly in situations involving intimate partner violence.
