NCVLI Staff Profile
Hopper joined NCVLI March 2018 as a Jr. Employee Relations Specialist shortly after being adopted by NCVLI Project Director Julie Hester. Read Hopper’s bio on the NCVLI Staff page and read on to learn more about him in his own “words” – as interpreted by Julie.
Why did you first get interested in working with NCVLI and victims’ rights?
When Julie first brought me to NCVLI, I did not know what to think. I had never been in an office before. I used to spend my days hanging out with other dogs outside and now I was supposed to spend my days inside with people. Then Bruce explained what I would be doing and how my work supporting NCVLI staff would help victims of crime all across the country. I love that I get to do this every day.
As an organization what is NCVLI’s greatest strength?
The staff. These people are the best. They all work so hard but they are always happy to see me, love to play with me, and like to give me treats when I ask and use my manners.
What are your hobbies?
I have lots of hobbies. My favorite is eating, but also I like to nap, play with my toys, go for walks and hikes, meet new people (humans, dogs, cats – I love them all!), and spend time getting really close to all of the wonderful people in my life.
Who or what inspires you?
Food and hugs.
Why should someone else get involved with NCVLI and victims’ rights?
NCVLI does amazing work. The staff are the best – they really believe in what they are doing and are making huge impacts but there is always more to do than there are hours in the day. There are so many ways you can help – and I will be right beside you providing hugs and kisses as needed.
