Government Agency as Convenor or Facilitator in a CCR
Governmental agencies within Coordinated Community Response (CCR) teams often fill important roles as convenors and facilitators of the CCR. Their role presents some unique opportunities as well as challenges in creating open spaces for dialogue and meaningful change as they ensure that everyone in a community has a voice even as they manage the many power differentials that may be present. In this one-hour, interactive meeting, the presenters will describe the good, bad and ugly of their experiences serving in the role, and share lessons learned from these experiences, including how to move forward despite uncertainty in leadership and membership due to budget, elections or legislative activity. Building off these discussions, small-group work will provide the opportunity for attendees to learn from one another and identify strategies to address challenges associated with their role within their current CCR effort.
