The 2024 Voices for Justice was held on March 8, 2024 at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and livestreamed to allow the national community to keep attending after years of being held virtually. The event included a special live event and a livestreamed Keynote and award ceremony.

The event was hosted on the beautiful campus of Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. The in-person event included food and drinks and entertainment by Portland-based comedian Don Gavitte. The main livestreamed program included a presentation by Keynote Speaker Nick Iwamoto, survivor and victim advocate, and an award ceremony celebrating three honorees.

Nicholas Iwamoto, survivor and victims’ rights advocate, joined us as our keynote speaker. Nick shared his story and inspired us all to persist in the fight for meaningful victims’ rights! Read more about Nick’s story here.

Three awards were given in 2024. The Victims’ Rights Partnership Award was presented to the Crime Victims Legal Network at Empire Justice Center. The Gail Burns-Smith Excellence in Victim Services Award was presented to Susan Moen. The Legal Advocacy Award was presented to Legal Action of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Judicare.
