2023 North Carolina Family Justice Center & Collaborative Communities Conference

The 5th Annual North Carolina Family Justice Center and Collaborative Communities Conference is for communities planning, developing, strengthening, and expanding co-located, multi-agency work in domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking.

Who should attend? Anyone interested in improving access to services for survivors and offender accountability. This includes law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, civil legal attorneys, survivors, medical staff, elected officials, and community leaders. Certificates of Attendance and CLE credits will be available.

Presentations from local and nationally recognized speakers will highlight best practices and innovative solutions to improve victim services and increase offender accountability. Topics include: developing high-risk teams, confidentiality and information sharing in a collaborative model, civil court remedies for victims, legal ethics of working in a collaborative model, FJC operations and navigation, the role of law enforcement in an FJC, and improving sexual assault investigations, human trafficking, and more!

NCVLI’s own, Meg Garvin, will be hosting two sessions: Confidentiality & Information Sharing When Collaborating: Focus on Survivor Agency and Victims’ Rights: What are They and Why Do They Matter?
