Oregon State Basic Victim Assistance Academy (SVAA) – September 2024

The Oregon State Basic Victim Assistance Academy (Basic Academy) provides fundamental education for victim service providers and allied professionals who routinely interact with victims of crime. The September Basic Academy will be a hybrid training with online sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 10am and 1pm throughout September 2024, in addition to an all-day in-person session in Portland, Oregon, on the final day of the course: Friday, September 27, from 9:00am – 4:00pm.

 

The Academy will begin Tuesday, September 3 and conclude at 4:00pm on Friday, September 27, 2024. Participants are obligated to participate in 40 hours of training over the course of four weeks that is a combination of self-paced individual work, live online sessions with the entire cohort, and one in-person session in Portland, Oregon. Instructions and details for accessing the online course will be sent prior to the start of the training.
